DOHA : Qatar’s men’s volleyball team have qualified for the 2026 Asian Cup finals, set to be held in Japan from Sept. 4-13, the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) confirmed on Sunday.
Qatar secured their place in the continental showpiece after the AVC approved the team’s recent results, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the 2025 Asian Nations Championship in Bahrain.
The Qatari side will compete alongside hosts Japan and fellow qualifiers Iran, South Korea, China, India, Australia, Oman, Bahrain, New Zealand, Thailand and Chinese Taipei.
The winners of the tournament will earn direct qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Qatar are currently ranked third in Asia, behind Japan and Iran, underlining their rapid development and growing ambitions to challenge for the continental title and an Olympic berth.
