Doha, October 20, 2025 – The Qatar 3×3 basketball team will depart for Manama, Bahrain, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, to compete in the third edition of the Asian Youth Games, held from October 22 to 31, 2025. The tournament will feature top Asian national teams vying for glory.
The Qatari squad includes four talented players: Mohammed Saeed Badri (Al Rayyan), Bkayakani Mboji (Al Arabi), Mohammedou Diop (Al Arabi), and Azzam Mohammed Yakan (Al Gharafa). The delegation is led by Captain Yassin Ismail, the manager of the Qatar 3×3 basketball team.
The team concluded its preparations in Doha with an intensive training program, focusing on technical and tactical drills, complemented by friendly matches to assess the readiness of its young players for the official competition.
Captain Yassin Ismail expressed confidence in the team’s potential, stating, “Our players are entering the tournament with high spirits and a clear ambition to deliver a commendable performance. Their dedication during the preparation phase has been exceptional, and we are confident in their ability to compete against Asia’s strongest teams. Our goal is not just to participate but to leave a mark that reflects the prestige of Qatari basketball.”
Ismail further emphasized that the Asian Youth Games represent a vital step in nurturing a new generation of 3×3 basketball players. He noted that the Qatar Basketball Federation places special emphasis on this age group, recognizing its importance as the foundation for the sport’s future in the country.
The Qatar team aims to achieve standout results, building on the nation’s recent successes in basketball at both Asian and international levels, driven by the sport’s significant growth in Qatar over recent years.
