Islamabad, Jan 9, 2026 — The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed the successful conclusion of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Teams Auction 2026, officially expanding the league to eight teams with the induction of new franchises from Hyderabad and Sialkot.
The live auction, held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, attracted nine bidders, underlining the league’s growing commercial strength and investor confidence. In the first round, US-based FKS Group, led by Fawad Sarwar, secured the seventh team for PKR 1.75 billion after bidding above the base price of PKR 110 crore, selecting Hyderabad as their franchise city.
The second round saw intense competition for the eighth team, with a base price of PKR 170 crore. OZ Group, headed by Hamza Majeed, emerged successful with a bid of PKR 1.85 billion, choosing Sialkot.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi described the expansion as a landmark moment for Pakistan cricket, while HBL PSL CEO Salman Naseer said the competitive auction reflected strong trust in the PSL brand.
The new owners expressed pride and commitment to building competitive teams, as the HBL PSL prepares for its 11th season with expanded regional representation and fan engagement.
