Doha: A practical training session was held for aspiring referees with the participation of instructors, assessors, and trainers.
The session aimed to evaluate the referees’ technical and physical abilities and prepare them to efficiently officiate youth league matches.
The training included newly graduated referees from the August 2025 course, as well as school referees who will be assigned to officiate U-13 tournaments following the grassroots festivals. The program was supervised by Hassan Al-Thawadi, Technical Expert for Aspiring Referees, and Sultan Mutlaq, General Supervisor of Referees, along with instructors Abdulaziz Al-Harbi, Tariq Mishal, Abdulaziz Jassim, Abdulaziz Bandar, and referee Mohammed Al-Muzaid.
Participants were divided into six officiating teams (referee – assistant referee 1 – assistant referee 2). Each team was assigned match-like situations during training, which were recorded on video. After five minutes, the footage was reviewed and discussed with the teams to analyze their decisions. Instructors provided immediate feedback and technical guidance to help improve decision-making, refine both technical and physical performance, and ensure the referees continue progressing toward the highest officiating standards.
