DOHA: Police delivered a commanding straight-sets victory over Al Gharafa on Tuesday in the second round of the 2025–2026 Qatar Men’s Volleyball League, asserting their status as title contenders at the Qatar Volleyball Association hall.
The Police side dominated throughout, sealing the match 3-0 with set scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-17. The win lifted Police to 18 points, cementing second place and cutting the gap to league leaders Al Wakrah to just four points.
For Al Gharafa, the defeat marked a sixth loss of the campaign against a solitary win. They remain ninth in the 10-team standings with three points, second from bottom.
Elsewhere in the table, Al Rayyan climbed to third place on 13 points, level with Qatar SC, who stay fourth. Attention now turns to Wednesday’s lone fixture, where sixth-placed Al Arabi (12 points) face bottom club Al Sadd, still searching for their first point of the season.
