DOHA, — The organising committee of the Qatari-Emirati Super Cup on Monday outlined details of the third edition of the tournament at a press conference held at the Torch Hotel in Doha.
The competition will feature four clubs from Qatar — Al Sadd, Al Gharafa, Al Duhail and Al Ahli — alongside UAE sides Shabab Al Ahli, Sharjah, Al Wahda and Al Jazira.
According to the Qatar Football Association, Doha will host two matches, with Al Gharafa facing Sharjah and Al Sadd meeting Shabab Al Ahli between Jan. 22 and 24. Two other fixtures will be played in Abu Dhabi, where Al Wahda take on Al Duhail and Al Jazira play Al Ahli on Jan. 23 and 25.
Organising committee officials said preparations for the Doha matches were in their final stages. Abdullah Al Menhali, director of facilities, said the Al Gharafa–Sharjah match would be played on Jan. 22 at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium, with kick-off at 1900 local time. Stadium gates will open at 1600, with Gate 12 allocated to visiting UAE supporters, he added.
