Doha: Pakistan Shaheens opened their campaign in style, powered by a stunning all-round display from Maaz Sadaqat to seal a comprehensive 40-run victory over Oman.
Left-handed opener Maaz was the architect of the innings, crafting a brilliant 96 off 54 balls, decorated with five fours and nine towering sixes.
He was well supported by Yasir Khan (26), captain Muhammad Irfan Khan (44) and Saad Masood (19) as the Shaheens piled up an imposing 220 for four in their 20 overs.
Oman’s bowlers shared the wickets, with Muzahir Raza delivering the most economical spell of 1 for 27.
Chasing 221, Oman never found momentum.
