DOHA: Lusail strengthened their hold on top spot in the second division league with a commanding 5-1 win over Al Khor in the ninth round, with all matches played on Sunday evening.
The victory lifted Lusail to 21 points, while Al Khor remained on seven points and slipped to seventh place.Al-Kharaitiyat climbed to second place on 19 points after securing a 2-0 victory over Al-Mesaimeer, who stayed fourth with 11 points.
Al-Kharaitiyat also benefited from Al-Markhiya’s 2-2 draw with Al-Bidaa, which saw Al-Markhiya drop from second to third on 18 points. Al-Bidaa moved up to sixth place with eight points.
In another match, Al-Muaither edged Al-Waab 3-2 to move into fifth place with 11 points, while Al-Waab remained bottom of the standings in eighth place with five points.
