Longines Hathab Big Tour champion Nasser eyes laurels in Europe

DOHA (Qatar): Nasser Al Ghazali having emerged as the overall Big Tour champion in the 4th edition of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour has now set his sights on taking part in upcoming European events and also preparing for next year’s Asian Games.

“It has been a good season for me. I had a plan from day one of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour. I have bene fortunate and lucky to have such a long partnership with my horse for the last six years,” Nasser told KhelUpdates.com

Nasser, who the inaugural edition in 2017-18, finished third in 12th and final round astride Quel Homme with 41.29secs but tallied 196 points to emerge the overall champion.

“I won the first season of Hathab Tour and very happy to win it again. It was a tough competition between me and some of the great riders from Doha and happy to finish on top,” he added.

The President of Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, who is also the Chairman Al Shaqab Board of Director, crowned the winners in different categories.

Cyrine Cherif emerged the winner in the Medium Tour category with his 198 points, while Khalifa Abdullah Al Khaldi won the Small Tour class with a tally of 200 points.

Maryam Ahmed Al Semaitt and Asma Yasser Muhammad claimed the trophy in dressage while Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani and Cain Monty won in the Future Riders.

The Business Trading team won the team title after garnering 194 points throughout the season.
