Doha: The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025™ is set to take place in less than two months, bringing together top Arab teams from the region to compete for the coveted trophy.
For Jordanian national team player, Yazan Al Naimat, the tournament has brought recognition to Arab football talents, while allowing the world to see the region’s true passion for the game.
Speaking to the tournament’s Local Organising Committee (LOC), Al Naimat, who also plays for Qatar Stars League side Al-Arabi, said: “The Arab Cup is important for the development of football in the region. The success of this competition has created a huge opportunity for Arab players to showcase their talent on a global stage. It is an honour to represent Jordan at the prestigious tournament.”
Since his debut for the national team in 2021, Al Naimat has emerged as one of Jordan’s top goal-scorers, and is celebrated for leading Jordan to their first ever qualification for the FIFA World Cup™.
In the last edition of the FIFA Arab Cup™, Al Naimat was awarded the Bronze Boot for scoring 3 goals during the competition, and now hopes to build on this success in the upcoming edition.
“We are ready to showcase our strength as a team, just as we did in the Asian Cup where we reached the final for the first time in our history. I will give it my all. I believe that when you have true passion and dedication, you can conquer anything,” said Al Naimat.
Jordan has been placed in Group C, alongside Egypt, the UAE, and the winner of the qualifier between Mauritania and Kuwait.
Jordan will play their first match on 3 December, 8pm at Al Bayt Stadium, when they face the UAE during the group stage.
