ROME : Inter Milan said Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez will be sidelined after sustaining a muscle strain in his left leg.
In a statement on the club’s official website, Inter said the 28-year-old is dealing with a muscle problem but did not specify the expected length of his absence or provide details of his treatment programme.
Inter lead the Serie A standings with 61 points and are set to face Lecce on Friday in the 26th round.
Martinez’s absence could be a blow for the league leaders at a crucial stage of the title race, with the Argentine serving as the team’s top scorer this season.
