Doha, Qatar: Tour 2 of H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix 2026 begins on Thursday at Al Shaqab as part of the Doha Equestrian Tour (DET) 2026 season.
Running for three consecutive days (8–10 January), the event will welcome more than 240 riders, with overall series prize money exceeding €3.3 million.
Tour 2 marks a significant step up in competition level, with CSI5* classes taking place for the first time, alongside CSI1* and CSI3* categories.
Competitions will be staged across three arenas at Al Shaqab: the Longines Indoor Arena, the Longines Outdoor Arena, and Second Outdoor Arena, with action scheduled from morning until evening throughout the weekend.
First Day Programme (Thursday, 8 January)
Competition gets underway tomorrow at the Longines Outdoor Arena with four classes, starting with a CSI3* 1.35m, followed by a CSI3* 1.40m, then the first CSI5* class at 1.40m, and concluding with a CSI5* 1.50m class.
At the Second Outdoor Arena, the programme includes a CSI3* 1.25m class followed by a CSI1* 1.10m class.
The Longines Indoor Arena will host a CSI1* 1.20m class, followed by the National Championship class at 60 cm.
Friday Competitions (9 January)
Competition continues Friday at the Longines Outdoor Arena with a CSI3* 1.30m class, followed by a CSI3* 1.45m, then a CSI5* 1.45m, and concluding with a CSI5* 1.55m class with a jump-off.
Friday will also feature the first CSI5* “Six Bars” class at 1.50m at the event, expected to draw strong public interest given its dynamic format and high level of challenge.
At the Second Outdoor Arena (2), the schedule includes a CSI3* 1.40m jump-off class. The Longines Indoor Arena will host a CSI1* 1.15m class, followed by an international youth class at 1.25m, then another CSI1* 1.25m class. The day will conclude with National Championship classes at 80 cm.
Final Day (Saturday, 10 January)
Tour 2 concludes on Saturday with Grand Prix classes across all three categories. The Longines Outdoor Arena will host the CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix with a jump-off, as well as the CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix with a jump-off. The Longines Indoor Arena will stage the CSI1* 1.30m Grand Prix with a jump-off.
The Second Outdoor Arena will also host a CSI3* 1.30m class and the National Championship at 1.00m. The Longines Indoor Arena will feature a CSI1* 1.15m class and a youth 1.30m jump-off class as part of the FEI Group VII qualifier. The Longines Outdoor Arena will also stage a CSI3* 1.40m class, followed by a CSI5* 1.50m two-round class.
Tour 1 Highlights
Tour 1 saw British rider Harry Charles claim the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix title, while compatriot Oliver Fletcher won the CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix. Qatari riders also secured the top three places in the CSI1* 1.30m Grand Prix, with Hussain Saeed Haydan taking the title, Saad Ahmed Al Saad finishing second, and Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi placing third.
