Doha: The Gulf Billiards and Snooker Championship, organised by the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation (QBSF), will kick off tomorrow at Al Messila Resort.

The event, which will see cueists from GCC countries including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, the UAE and hosts Qatar, will conclude on until September 28.

Qatar billiards and snooker team will compete in the tournament with five players, three in snooker competitions: Ahmed Saif, Ali Al Obaidly and Muhanna Al Obaidly, and two in billiards competitions: Walid Majid and Bashar Hussein.

Qatar players have the expertise and technical and mental capabilities that qualify them to achieve success after another and excel over their competitors, but this does not prevent at the same time recognising the strength of billiards and snooker in the Gulf countries, and therefore the competition will not be easy at all, and the struggle will be fierce in order to rise to the platforms Coronation. This is the third event being organised by the QBSF this month. Doha first hosted the 36th Asian Singles Championship while the IBSF 6-Red World Cup was concluded on Tuesday.

For his part, Mubarak Al Khayarin, International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) and Executive Director of the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation, confirmed the readiness of the competition hall in Messila for the launch of the combined Gulf Championship.

The competitions of this tournament will comprise seven competition events.
