Doha: The Lusail International Circuit (LIC) officially kicked off the 50-day countdown to the FORMULA 1® Qatar Grand Prix 2025, unveiling a series of enhanced fan experiences, sustainability initiatives, and community programs ahead of the much-anticipated race weekend from 28–30 November.
The announcement came during a press conference held at the circuit, led by Ali Al Dosari, Executive Director of Operations at LIC, and Hamad Alkhalaqi, PR & Communications Manager.
Both outlined the circuit’s comprehensive preparations — from cutting-edge track operations to citywide fan engagement initiatives — reaffirming LIC’s readiness to host one of the most dynamic motorsport weekends of the year.
This year’s race weekend promises a full-throttle lineup both on and off the track. In addition to Sunday’s main Formula 1® Grand Prix, fans will enjoy the Formula 1® Sprint Race, FIA Formula 2 Championship, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East, ensuring non-stop racing excitement.
Off the circuit, entertainment will take center stage with two major concerts:
British music icon Seal will perform on Friday night, while legendary rock band Metallica will close the weekend with a high-energy performance on Sunday.
The Fan Zone is set for a complete transformation this year, offering an expanded family area, diverse food and beverage options, and an interactive blend of culture, education, and entertainment.
A highlight will be the Qatar Cultural Area, showcasing traditional Qatari heritage through Ardha performances, Arabic coffee and dates, and craft displays including Sadu weaving, pottery, calligraphy, and henna art.
Adding to the excitement, LEGO will make its Middle East debut with the “Build The Thrill” Experience, part of its global tour across 14 Formula 1® races.
The activation features a LEGO-themed pitlane and garage where fans can assemble their own mini LEGO F1® cars, enjoy immersive visuals, and take home a special Qatar Grand Prix souvenir.
The Fan Zone will also feature official F1® interactive activations, including Sim Racing, a LED Pitstop Challenge, a Driver Selfie Station, and a DJ Podium for fans to celebrate like champions. Visitors can also experience the “This is F1® 4D”cinematic show, the Blast Lane wind tunnel, and virtual pit tours, all designed to bring fans closer to the heart of Formula 1®.
Innovation and sustainability are also central to this year’s event.
The F1® Genius Dome will offer interactive exhibits exploring the science of aerodynamics and race strategy, while the Green Arena will feature an energy-generating cycling challenge.
Meanwhile, the Gallery of Second Life will display art installations made entirely from recycled materials.
A key addition this year is The Sensory Room, developed in collaboration with Qatar Foundation.
This inclusive space will provide a calm environment for guests with sensory sensitivities, reflecting LIC’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.
To further enhance fan experience, LIC has also introduced a bi-lingual digital event map and navigation platform, enabling visitors to plan their race weekend more efficiently.
With an unmatched combination of speed, spectacle, and innovation, the FORMULA 1® Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2025 is poised to deliver an unforgettable experience for motorsport fans, families, and thrill-seekers alike.
