NEW YORK: FIFA announced on Tuesday the introduction of a limited number of $60 “Supporter Entry Tier” tickets in a move aimed at making next year’s World Cup more affordable for fans of qualified teams. The new pricing category will be available across all 104 matches of the tournament, including the final, marking a significant step toward broader fan inclusion.
The discounted tickets will account for 10% of each Participating Member Association’s (PMA) allocation. PMAs, which represent the competing national teams, will oversee the ticket distribution through their dedicated fan programmes and set their own criteria to prioritise “loyal fans” with close ties to their national sides.
FIFA confirmed that affordability would be central to PMA allocations, with half of all tickets falling into the lowest-priced categories. Of this, 40% will be offered under the existing Supporter Value Tier, alongside the new 10% Supporter Entry Tier. The remaining tickets will be divided equally between the Supporter Standard Tier and the Supporter Premier Tier.
The move follows growing concerns over rising World Cup costs and is designed to ensure that committed supporters are not priced out of football’s biggest global event.
