DOHA: Qatari weightlifter Fares Ahmed Jaber delivered a commanding performance on the final day of the three combined championships in Doha, finishing the week with an astonishing 15 medals across events organized by the Qatar Weightlifting Federation.
Competing at the 10th Qatar International Weightlifting Cup 2025, the Arab Championships (youth, junior and senior), and the West Asian Championships for the same age groups, Fares collected 12 gold and three silver medals in the over 94 kg and 110 kg categories. His standout lifts included 151 kg in the snatch, 201 kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 352 kg, underlining his dominance on the platform.
At the Arab Championships, Fares claimed six gold and one silver medal, winning all three lifts in the over 94 kg junior category and repeating the feat in the 110 kg youth division. He also added a silver medal in the 110 kg men’s clean and jerk. The West Asian Championships brought a similar return, with six golds and one silver, while his campaign concluded with a silver medal in the 110 kg men’s category at the Qatar International Cup.
Making his first official appearance for the Qatari national team, Fares expressed immense joy at the milestone, capping a memorable seven-day event in Doha that firmly announced his arrival on the regional weightlifting stage.
