Doha: The Executive Bureau of the Arab Weightlifting Federation held its first meeting here following the re-election of Mohammed bin Youssef Al Manna as President for the 2025–2029 term, marking a strong start to the new electoral cycle and a clear vision for advancing Arab weightlifting regionally and internationally.
The meeting was attended by Vice Presidents:
- Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi (Saudi Arabia)
- Talal Al Jassar (Kuwait)
- Abdullah Al Jarmal (Yemen)
- Kamal Saeedi (Algeria)
- Mohammed Abdelmaqsood (Egypt)
Executive Bureau members present included:
- Mohammed Kazem Al Mazal (Iraq)
- Abdelilah Laarache (Morocco)
- Abdulrahman Al Jatlawy (Libya)
Also attending was Khaled Al Muhallal, President of the African Weightlifting Federation.

Al Manna thanked Arab federations for renewing their confidence and highlighted the growing influence of Arab leadership in global sports governance, noting that nearly 20 percent of Arab officials now hold international positions.
He emphasized that Arab championships serve not only competitive purposes but also promote unity and cooperation, expressing pride in Doha hosting three combined events:
- 10th Qatar International Cup
- Arab Championship
- West Asia Championship
Al Manna also honored several sports federation leaders in recognition of their contributions to the development of weightlifting at continental and international levels, reaffirming his commitment to cooperation, joint action, and sustained progress of the sport across all arenas
