DOHA: Qatar beach volleyball team featuring Cherif Younes and Ahmed Tijan qualified for the semifinals after beating Italy 2-0 in their quarterfinal clash on Wednesday.
The duo, who had earlier defeated USA 2-1 with a 14-21, 21-19, 15-11 in the quarterfinal, won 21-17, 23-21 against Italians D. Lupo and P Nicolai.
The Qataris will now face Russian Olympic Committee’s Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovskiy in the last four tomorrow.
