Doha: The second day of the Aspetar World Conference on Precision Athlete Health and Performance highlighted cutting-edge advancements in sports medicine, athlete health, and performance enhancement.
Experts from around the world convened to discuss innovative approaches to injury prevention, diagnostics, and holistic athlete care.
Keynote sessions featured leading specialists, including Dr. Marco Cardinale, who presented strategies to protect young athletes from injuries, and Roula Kotsifaki, who introduced new ACL treatment protocols.
Dr. Marcelo Bordalo explored the integration of artificial intelligence and advanced imaging in injury management, while Dr. Khalid Al Khelafi and Dr. Andrea Mosler shared the latest research on cartilage injury. Dr. Roald Bahr outlined the IOC’s updated initiatives to safeguard elite athletes’ health.
Specialized sessions provided in-depth insights into topics such as sensorimotor rehabilitation, cardiac and mental health, sleep, nutrition, regenerative medicine, and emergency care. Discussions emphasized the importance of AI-driven diagnostics, early screening, and individualized training programs to prevent long-term injuries in young athletes.
Speakers also highlighted the crucial role of nurses and healthcare teams as the first responders in athlete care, underscoring Aspetar’s comprehensive approach that integrates medical, psychological, and nutritional support.
The conference concludes tomorrow, followed by specialized scientific workshops on Sunday and Monday. Day Two reaffirmed Aspetar’s global leadership in sports medicine and its unwavering commitment to innovation, collaboration, and advancing athlete health and performance worldwide.
