Doha, Qatar: Hosts Qatar along with UAE, Iran and Australia kept themselves in the race to qualify for the men’s semi-finals of FIP Padel Asia Cup organized by the International Padel Federation (FIP) together with the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) and Padel Asia at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex as they registered contrasting wins on Tuesday.
For Qatar, UAE, Iran and Australia this was their second successive win in the last-8 stage of the championship. In the women’s section, Japan, Indonesia and Iran also notched their second successive win to be in the semi-final qualification race, while Australia bounced back after their first-round defeat to register their first win on Tuesday.
In the men’s encounter, Qatar got the better of Pakistan 3-0 in Group B match and in the other match of Group B, Australia defeated Kuwait 2-1.
Qatar now take on Australia on Wednesday, which will decide the Group B leader.
