DOHA: The General Secretariat of the Arab Volleyball Federation has released the full schedule for the 44th Arab Volleyball Clubs Championship, set to take place in Tunisia from January 6 to 18, with 12 clubs from across the Arab world competing for the title.
Qatar will be represented by Qatar SC and Police SC, both of whom will be in action on the opening day of the tournament. Police SC will kick off their campaign in Group B against the Palestinian Forces team, while Qatar SC begin their Group A journey with a match against Al-Seeb of Oman.
The draw has placed Qatar SC in a challenging Group A alongside Al-Seeb (Oman), Al-Masafi Al-Shamal (Iraq), Tadjenanet (Algeria), Al-Suwaihli (Libya), and hosts Espérance Sportive de Tunis. Police SC, meanwhile, face stiff competition in Group B, which includes Al-Ittihad (Libya), Al-Muharraq (Bahrain), Majees (Oman), Etoile Sportive du Sahel (Tunisia), and the Palestinian Forces team.
The championship returns after its previous edition was held in Doha, where Egypt’s Zamalek SC clinched the title. Police SC finished fourth on that occasion and will be aiming to improve on that result in Tunisia.
