KOLKATA, India: The cricket-mad city has got its first cricket themed restaurant ‘Pavilion’, inaugurated by former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly on Friday afternoon.

Centrally located (2A, Congress Exhibition Road, at Park Circus), ‘Pavilion’ is the first of its kind, where cricket lovers can enjoy delicious food with feel of legendary cricketers’ presence around them.

More than 100 cricket memorabilia have been placed in ‘Pavilion’ with signatures of cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, VVS Laxman, Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle, David Warner and almost all the prominent members of the present Indian team and the Indian Premier League (IPL) stars.

Inside this newly conceptualized restaurant, cricket enthusiasts can find bats, balls, helmets, jerseys, neckties, used and signed by the legends of the sport.

Autographs of England, India, Pakistan, Australia and different IPL team members together on bats, jerseys, sheets (with photos of them) are there.

“It’s a lovely place to enjoy cricket along with delicious food. It’s cozy and casual. I have seen several cricket-themed restaurants in other countries like Sri Lanka, UK. But this one is different as it has so many authentic memorabilia, it’s a must-visit place for ardent fans of cricket and food,” said Ganguly.

This rich and massive collection of cricket memorabilia has been collected by Moin Bin Moksud over a period of twenty years.

Moin has been associated with all international cricket teams as well as Indian cricket team. He has worked with several IPL teams on many occasions in official capacity when they travelled to Kolkata. Whenever he got chances to be involved with the sport in any role, Moin collected memorabilia for himself.

“The idea of Pavilion came to my mind when I visited Lords Cricket Museum and saw cricket memorabilia’s on display. I wanted to give Kolkata an authentic place to watch Cricket”, said Moin.

With this idea, he gifted his prized possessions to his nephew Varun Kambhoj who looks after the Pavilion Restaurant.

With unforgettable flavours of traditional Tandoor, Indian and Chinese cuisine, Kolkata connoisseur will remember the ambience of ‘Pavilion’ forever once they step in. Guests can enjoy memorable moments of cricket round the clock on giant tv screens inside ‘Pavilion’ and relish a pocket- friendly and guilt-free food experience.

Pavilion is establishing itself as the city’s best spot for watching Cricket and Adda. Be a part of action and cheer your favourite team!
