Indian Wells: World number one Carlos Alcaraz continued his dominant run at Indian Wells Masters 2026, defeating Norway’s Casper Ruud 6-1, 7-6(2) to reach the quarter-finals.
Alcaraz’s near-flawless serving helped him storm through the opening set in just 37 minutes, breaking Ruud three times.
The 13th-seeded Ruud lifted his game in the second set and forced a tiebreak, but Alcaraz held firm to secure his 15th consecutive win of the season and advance to the quarter-finals for the fifth straight year.
In a major upset, Britain’s Jack Draper stunned world number three Novak Djokovic 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(5) to also book a spot in the last eight in the California desert.
