DOHA : Al Waab advanced to the quarter-finals of the QSL Cup after securing a 3-1 victory over Muaither in their knockout-stage match at Al Shamal Stadium today.
Al Waab took control early, scoring twice in the first half through Al-Makki Mohsen and Amir Fawoudah to establish a comfortable lead. Bahaa Saif added a third goal to extend their advantage.
Muaither pulled one back in the second half when Mohammed Junaidi found the net, but the goal proved only a consolation as Al Waab saw out the match to book their place in the last eight.
The defeat ended Muaither’s run in the competition, while Al Waab joined the teams preparing for the quarter-final stage.
