DOHA : Al Sadd defender Pedro Miguel said his side are ready for a tough test against Iran’s Tractor but are determined to claim all three points when the teams meet in the group stage of the 2026 AFC Champions League.
Tractor sit second in the group standings and remain unbeaten in the current edition of the continental competition, but Pedro said Al Sadd are confident playing at home and in front of their supporters.
“We know the difficulty of facing Tractor. They are a good team, second in the group and they have not lost any match, but we are ready and we are aiming to get the three points,” Pedro said at a pre-match news conference. “We are playing on our home ground and among our fans, and that gives us motivation.”
The Portuguese defender said the players are expecting a demanding encounter and urged supporters to play their part.
“We expect a difficult match and we count on our fans to support us as they always do. We will do our best against the Iranian team and we need the fans behind us,” he said.
Pedro added that victory is essential if Al Sadd are to keep their qualification hopes alive.
“We are trying as much as possible to qualify and secure our place in this competition. We have a crucial match ahead and we must win. The three points are very important to keep our chances alive, even if they are slim,” he said.
