DOHA: Hamad Al Hammadi has assumed the presidency of the Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA), succeeding long-serving Khalil Al-Mohannadi, the federation said on Monday.
Al-Hammadi described the role as a “historic trust” and a dual responsibility to preserve the legacy built over decades.
In a statement, he said the new Board of Directors will pursue an ambitious vision focused on sustaining Qatar’s global successes, developing grassroots participation, and identifying promising local talents.
Al-Hammadi paid tribute to Al-Mohannadi, saying his experience will remain a valuable reference for the federation. He added that the next phase will involve coordinated efforts to advance the sport technically and administratively, in line with Qatar’s broader sports ambitions.
“The guiding principle of the new board is continuity with renewal,” Al-Hammadi said, underlining Doha’s aim to strengthen its position as a global hub for table tennis and its role in shaping the sport regionally and internationally.
