DOHA: League leaders Al Gharafa will host second-placed Al Sadd on Saturday evening in a highly anticipated clash at Thani bin Jassim Stadium, as part of the 14th round of the 2025–26 Doha Bank Stars League.
The fixture is widely viewed as a potential title decider. A home victory for Al Gharafa would extend their lead over Al Sadd to eight points, moving the Cheetahs significantly closer to a long-awaited league crown. A win for defending champions Al Sadd would cut the gap to just two points and reignite the title race, while a draw would leave the standings unchanged.
Al Gharafa have topped the table on merit this season, producing their best run of results in recent years, and will look to capitalise on home advantage. Al Sadd, meanwhile, are chasing a seventh consecutive victory as they aim to close in on the leaders.
Al Gharafa lead the standings with 31 points, with Al Sadd second on 26.
The match will be officiated by international referee Abdulhadi Al-Ruwaili, assisted by Talib Salem Al-Marri and Mohammed Yousef Hussein, with Naif Al-Qadri as fourth official. Mishari Al-Shammari will serve as video assistant referee, assisted by Hamad Mohammed Al-Aji.
