MUSCAT: Qatar’s Nasser Al Attiyah once again underlined his legendary status in regional rallying by conquering the 2026 Oman Rally, sealing a remarkable ninth victory at the iconic event.
The latest triumph also marked Al Attiyah’s 92nd career win in the Middle East Rally Championship (MERC), further extending his record as the most successful driver in the history of the series.
Al Attiyah delivered a commanding performance throughout the rally to finish comfortably ahead of Omani star Abdullah Al Rawahi, who impressed on home soil to secure second place overall. The podium was completed by Nasser Khalifa Al Attiyah, who not only finished third overall but also claimed top honors in the Masters Cup category.
Mohammed Al Marri and Rashed Al Mohannadi both saw their rallies end in disappointment, as mechanical problems forced them to retire despite leading their respective categories at the time.
