Rabat: Mohamed Salah scored from the penalty spot as Egypt booked their place in the knockout stages of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a 1–0 win over South Africa on Friday.
The Liverpool forward, captaining the Pharaohs, netted his second goal in as many matches in a Group B clash in Morocco, a result that secured Egypt qualification with a game to spare.
Salah won the decisive penalty just before half-time and calmly converted in the 45th minute after a VAR review awarded the spot-kick.
