DOHA: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has praised Qatar for delivering the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 to the highest international standards, underlining the country’s status as a leading host of major global sporting events.
In a statement, Sheikh Salman said Qatar’s strong organisation, modern infrastructure and strict adherence to top technical and operational benchmarks ensured the tournament was presented in exemplary fashion. He added that the competition’s success reflected effective cooperation between FIFA, continental bodies and national associations, while highlighting the importance of regional tournaments in boosting competitiveness, talent development and sportsmanship.
Sheikh Salman, who also serves as FIFA’s First Vice-President, congratulated Morocco on lifting the title after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Jordan in the final, describing the triumph as a testament to the team’s high technical quality and Morocco’s strong international standing.
He also commended Jordan’s runners-up finish, noting that their consistent performances showcased the clear progress of Jordanian football and its growing ambitions on the regional and global stage.
