MUSCAT: Hamza Zahoor produced a sensational unbeaten century to steer Pakistan U19 to a remarkable five-wicket victory over India U19 in their U19 Asia Cup 2026 encounter in Oman on Sunday.
Chasing 209 for victory, Pakistan found themselves in deep trouble at 61/5 after losing both openers early before suffering a middle-order collapse that saw three wickets fall in three overs.
However, Zahoor turned the game around with a match-winning partnership alongside Husnain Abbas Dar. The pair added 107 runs to revive Pakistan’s chase and put their team firmly back in contention.
Despite India claiming two more wickets to threaten a comeback, Zahoor remained composed and guided Pakistan across the finish line with an unbeaten 100. India’s Manal Chauhan claimed three wickets but his efforts ultimately went in vain.
Earlier, India were bowled out for 208 after electing to bat first. Arjun Rajput led the innings with an impressive 107 off 85 deliveries, providing the highlight of India’s batting performance.
Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid, sons of former India greats Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid respectively, failed to make significant contributions with the bat.
For Pakistan, Rizwanullah, Ali Raza and Niqab Shafiq were the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets apiece to restrict India to 208.
