DOHA: The Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation has signed a partnership agreement with TotalEnergies Qatar, naming the company official sponsor of the FIP World Cup Qatar 2026, scheduled to take place in Doha from Nov. 2-7.
The agreement was announced at a press conference on Monday as preparations continue for the tournament, which will feature 32 national teams competing in men’s and women’s categories.
Tournament director Tariq Zainal welcomed the agreement, praising TotalEnergies Qatar’s longstanding support for sporting events and initiatives organised by the federation.
Zainal said Qatar’s selection to host the 2026 and 2028 editions reflected international confidence in the country’s sporting infrastructure, organisational expertise and ability to stage major international competitions.
TotalEnergies EP Qatar Managing Director and Country Chair Antoine Delafargue said the sponsorship marked another chapter in the company’s partnership with the federation and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sport in Qatar.
The tournament will bring together 16 men’s and 16 women’s national teams at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, with total prize money of 1.2 million euros ($1.4 million) shared equally between the two competitions.
Doha will host the championship for the third time, having previously staged the event in 2021 and 2024.
