DOHA : Qatar claimed two medals at the conclusion of the third round of the 2026 West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour, with the men’s Qatar 1 team taking silver and the women’s Qatar 1 pair winning bronze.
Mousa Al Khair and Mohammed Ehab reached the men’s final after defeating Lebanon 1 in straight sets, but lost 2-0 to Bahrain 1, with the sets decided 24-22 and 21-19, to finish runners-up.
In the women’s competition, Haya Abu Issa and Laila Mohammed secured bronze with a 2-1 victory over Bahrain in the third-place match. After losing the opening set 21-13, the Qatari pair recovered to win the next two 21-19 and 15-12.
The bronze medal marked the first women’s medal in the team’s history, adding to Qatar’s silver in the men’s event.
The tournament featured 15 teams from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Lebanon, bringing the third round to a close with Qatar collecting medals in both the men’s and women’s competitions.
