KOCAELI, Turkey : France captain Kylian Mbappe was forced off with an apparent knee injury shortly after scoring against Turkey in the Nations League on Friday.
Mbappe received treatment after opening the scoring but briefly returned to the pitch before going down again about a minute later.
The forward was unable to continue, prompting France coach Zinedine Zidane to make a substitution in the 58th minute of his first match in charge of the national team.
Mbappe’s early departure came after he had put France ahead, but the extent of the injury was not immediately clear.
