BENGALURU, India : India held 44th-ranked Panama to a 1-1 draw at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Friday after both sides scored once in an open contest.
India forward Ryan Williams missed two early chances before putting the hosts ahead late in the first half.
Williams received a long pass, ran into the penalty area and kept his composure to finish one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
Panama, who have qualified for the World Cup, responded after the break when Omar Valencia levelled with a left-footed strike from outside the box that found the top corner.
Both teams continued to attack in search of a winning goal but neither could break the deadlock.
India and Panama therefore settled for a draw after an even contest in Bengaluru.
