DOHA : Al Shamal began their 2026-27 QSL Cup campaign with a 4-0 victory over Al Bidda at Al Khor Stadium on Tuesday.
Omar Ali scored twice to put Al Shamal in control, opening the scoring in the 18th minute before adding his second 10 minutes after the restart.
Ahmed Al Saeed extended the lead in the 68th minute, while Mohammed Radi completed the scoring in the 80th minute.
In another Round 1 match, Muaither beat Al Khor 2-0 at Grand Hamad Stadium.
Marc Marruecos put Muaither ahead in the 21st minute before Abdellah Raihani doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in the 83rd.
Al Waab also began their campaign with a win, defeating Mesaimeer 1-0 at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium
Diogo Filipe scored the only goal from the penalty spot in the 12th minute, giving Al Waab an early lead that they held until the final whistle.
The three results gave Al Shamal, Muaither and Al Waab winning starts to their QSL Cup campaigns, while Al Bidda, Al Khor and Mesaimeer began the competition with defeats.
