DOHA: DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced a 24-player squad for the national team’s campaign at the 27th Gulf Cup, scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from September 23 to October 6.
Spanish head coach Julen Lopetegui has selected three goalkeepers for the tournament — Salah Zakaria, Meshaal Barsham and Mahmoud Abu Nada.
The squad features several experienced players, including Akram Afif, Almoez Ali, Hassan Al Haydos, Boualem Khoukhi, Pedro Miguel and Abdulaziz Hatem, alongside a number of younger players.

Qatar Drawn in Group B
Qatar has been placed in Group B alongside United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Yemen.
The national team will begin its Gulf Cup campaign against defending champions Bahrain on September 24 at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.
The Gulf Cup runs from September 23 to October 6, with Qatar looking to make an impact under Lopetegui in the regional tournament.
