SILVERSTONE, England — Team Qatar moved to the top of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) LMGT3 standings after winning the Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone, the fifth round of the endurance championship, on Sunday.
The Qatar squad, comprising Abdullah Al Khalifa, Julien Hanses and Ralf Aron in partnership with Iron Lynx, won the four-hour race in the No. 62 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3.
Al Khalifa had secured pole position in the LMGT3 class in qualifying with a time of 2:00.011, his third pole of the season in the category.
Starting from the front of the LMGT3 field, the Qatar team maintained its position through the race to claim its first victory of the 2026 ELMS season.
The team entered the Silverstone round third in the championship standings with 47 points, six behind the leaders.
Victory at Silverstone, combined with the additional point for pole position, lifted Team Qatar to 73 points and the top of the LMGT3 standings with one round remaining.
The final round of the six-race ELMS season will be held at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimao, Portugal, on Oct. 10.
Team Qatar will enter the season finale leading the LMGT3 championship and seeking to convert its Silverstone victory and points advantage into the title.
