DOHA : The inaugural phase of Qatar’s Football Coaching Diploma courses for Levels A and C began in Doha on Saturday as the country steps up efforts to develop coaches and football administrators.
The 13-day programmes will run until Sept. 17 as part of Qatar’s 2026-27 football development strategy.
The Level A course combines classroom instruction with practical sessions, with participants analysing defensive and attacking situations on the field while studying modern tactical trends in the game.
The programme also introduces coaches to developing a game model to establish a clear playing identity, while covering season planning and the management of different stages of the training cycle.
The courses form part of the Qatar Football Association’s wider efforts to develop local coaching talent and align its programmes with the standards set by the Asian Football Confederation through its coaching diploma pathway.
The Level C course focuses on the fundamentals of football, helping coaches build a strong technical foundation for players at the earliest stages of development.
Participants will also study training-session organisation, youth development programmes tailored to young players’ needs and mental preparation.
The association said the focus on grassroots player development reflects its wider strategy to strengthen the foundations of football in Qatar and prepare players and coaches for the future.
