JAKARTA : Qatar’s Talal Al Marri won the silver medal in the overall competition at the 25th Asian Junior Bowling Championship in Jakarta, scoring 3,972 points.
Hong Kong’s Dylan Lam Nok Him claimed the gold medal with 4,112 points, while Vietnam’s Tran Hoang Khoi finished third with 3,958.
Al Marri’s silver adds to Qatar’s strong showing at the championship, with the country having earlier secured the doubles gold through Al Marri and Abdulrahman Al Dosari.
Ahmed Adel Darwish also contributed to Qatar’s medal tally by winning bronze in the singles competition.
Al Marri, Mosaed Al Marikhi and Darwish have qualified for the Masters event, which will bring together the leading performers from the championship.
The competition continues with the team event before the Masters finals, with the top 16 male and female bowlers in the overall rankings earning places in the decisive stage.
Qatar will look to build on its medal haul as the championship enters its final stages in the Indonesian capital.
