LONDON : Manchester City have accepted a £65.4 million ($88.47 million) bid from Barcelona for Spain midfielder Rodri, British media reported on Sunday.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner has agreed a four-year contract with the Spanish champions and is expected to travel to Barcelona next week to complete the transfer, Sky Sports reported.
Rodri, 30, joined City from Atletico Madrid for a then club-record £62.8 million in 2019 and went on to make 298 appearances for the club, winning 12 major trophies.
His honours include four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three League Cups and the Champions League.
Rodri had one year remaining on his contract and City had been keen to extend his stay at the club.
The midfielder missed City’s 3-0 Community Shield defeat by Arsenal on Sunday after only returning to training on Friday following minor back surgery.
