DOHA: Qatar’s Sports for All Federation said more than 36,100 people took part in its 2026 Summer Sports for All programme, which offered activities across more than 65 locations during the summer.

The programme brought together participants of different ages and backgrounds at public parks, sports clubs, youth and commercial centres, neighbourhood playgrounds, schools and other sports facilities.

Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al Dosari, adviser to the Minister of Sports and Youth and president of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, said the strong turnout reflected growing community interest in physical activity and supported efforts to make sport part of daily life.

He said the programme’s broad reach was also aligned with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly in promoting healthier lifestyles among children and young people.

Al Dosari credited the Ministry of Sports and Youth and cooperation with more than 50 partners and institutions for helping create a wider sporting environment and expand the programme’s reach.
Qatar Sports for All Federation executive director Abdullah Al Dosari said the initiative was designed to encourage people, particularly children and youth, to remain physically active during the summer break while developing skills and making productive use of their leisure time.

The programme featured a range of activities, including a children’s camp at Lusail Sports Hall, step challenges in shopping malls, women’s sporting events at Education City, as well as Muay Thai and swimming sessions.

Organisers said the variety of activities and locations helped attract participants from across the community and reinforced the federation’s goal of making sport accessible to a wider section of Qatar’s population.
