MELBOURNE : Josh Hazlewood has edged Scott Boland out of Australia’s attack for the first Test against Bangladesh, bringing the hosts’ pace-bowling “Fab Four” together for the first time in more than a year.
Hazlewood will join captain Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc in the pace attack at Darwin’s Marrara Oval from Thursday, with 38-year-old Nathan Lyon the sole specialist spinner.
Hazlewood missed the Ashes because of Achilles and hamstring injuries, while Cummins and Lyon were sidelined for much of Australia’s series against England.
Cameron Green retained his place in the side, with fellow seam-bowling all-rounder Beau Webster also included.
Jake Weatherald kept his place as opener following the retirement of Usman Khawaja.
Australia have not hosted Bangladesh for a Test series since 2003 and will face them on home soil for the first time in 23 years.
