MUNICH : Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen dismissed speculation linking Michael Olise with a move to Real Madrid, saying the France winger remains firmly part of the Bundesliga champions’ plans.
“There was zero contact. Of course he’s staying,” Dreesen said, rejecting reports that the Spanish club were preparing an approach for the 24-year-old.
Olise has emerged as a key player for Bayern, and Dreesen’s comments appeared to end speculation over the winger’s immediate future.
Dreesen also addressed reports surrounding Colombia international Luis Diaz but gave no indication that Bayern were considering parting ways with the forward.
The Bayern CEO praised head coach Vincent Kompany for the culture he has established since taking charge, highlighting the Belgian’s emphasis on collective success.
“With him, the team is the star, not the coach,” Dreesen said.
He also lauded the work being carried out at Bayern’s youth academy under campus director Jochen Sauer, describing player development as a central pillar of the club’s long-term strategy.
Looking ahead to the international game, Dreesen welcomed Jürgen Klopp’s appointment as Germany head coach and said the former Liverpool manager would benefit from Bayern’s strong domestic core.
“Jürgen Klopp said he wants to pick up lots of wins – he’ll need lots of FC Bayern players for that,” Dreesen said.
