DOHA : Qatar’s Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) has signed an agreement with the Qatar Football Association (QFA) to help finance travel and accommodation for supporters attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States and Canada.
Under the agreement, DAAM will provide funding for the Qatari Fans Delegation Program, which aims to support the national team’s followers during the tournament. The initiative includes flight tickets through Qatar Airways, hotel accommodation and local transportation for members of the delegation.
QFA Secretary General Mansoor Mohammed Al Ansari welcomed the partnership, describing the funding as a key element in the association’s preparations for the tournament.
“We extend our sincere thanks to DAAM for this valuable cooperation and outstanding support,” Al Ansari said, adding that the initiative would help deliver a high-quality experience for Qatari supporters travelling to the World Cup.
DAAM Programs Director Hassan Yousef Al Obaidly said the project was intended to strengthen support for the national team while promoting Qatar’s identity on the global stage.
The programme is expected to facilitate the participation of around 1,000 people, including supporters, fan association members, media representatives and players’ families.
The agreement highlights the role of DAAM and companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange in supporting sports initiatives aligned with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
