OSTRAVA, Czech Republic : Qatar’s beach volleyball pair of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan suffered a hard-fought defeat to Americans Taylor Crabb and Andy Benesh at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Elite16 Ostrava in the Czech Republic on Friday.
The Qatari duo lost 2-1 in a closely contested match, with the Americans prevailing 16-21 22-20 15-11 after coming from a set down.
Cherif and Ahmed will later face France’s Elouan Chouikh and Joadel Geneviève-Gardoque in a crucial third-round encounter as they seek to boost their hopes of reaching the knockout stages.
The Qatari pair had opened their campaign in Ostrava with a straight-sets victory over Latvia’s Bedritis and Rinkevics on Thursday.
