LUSAIL: Team Qatar is set to make history with its debut appearance at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, scheduled from 10 to 14 June in France, marking a major milestone for Qatari motorsport on the global stage.

The team will compete in the LMGT3 category with the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport LMGT3 through a strategic partnership between the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), Iron Lynx, and Mercedes-AMG Motorsport.

“Team Qatar’s participation at Le Mans is a proud moment for Qatari motorsport and reflects the country’s growing presence on the global stage. Through our partnership with Iron Lynx and Mercedes-AMG, we are building opportunities for future generations and strengthening Qatar’s place in international endurance racing,” said Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai, President of QMMF and LIC.

Held annually at the iconic Circuit de la Sarthe, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is regarded as the pinnacle of endurance racing and the centrepiece of the FIA World Endurance Championship calendar.

Andrea Piccini, Iron Lynx Team Principal and CEO, said: “We are proud to partner with QMMF for this historic Le Mans debut. QMMF has achieved impressive results in a short time, and we are fully committed to helping Team Qatar continue its rise and achieve strong results.”

Since its inception in 1923, the race has tested teams and drivers in a gruelling 24-hour battle demanding speed, consistency, reliability, and tactical excellence.

“Competing at Le Mans is a proud and exciting moment for Team Qatar. We respect the challenge ahead and are eager to learn, grow, and represent Qatar on one of motorsport’s biggest stages,” said Abdulla Al Khelaifi, Team Qatar driver.
