LONDON : Manchester City kept the Premier League title race alive with a comfortable 3-0 home win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday, cutting Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table to two points with two games remaining.
Pep Guardiola’s side moved to 77 points in second place after a composed display at the Etihad Stadium, maintaining pressure on leaders Arsenal as the season heads into its closing stages.
Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring in the 32nd minute before Omar Marmoush doubled City’s advantage eight minutes later. Savinho sealed the victory with a late strike in the 84th minute.
City, who have already lifted the League Cup this season, will next turn their attention to Saturday’s FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley.
The reigning champions still face a demanding finish to the league campaign, with an away trip to sixth-placed Bournemouth followed by a final-day home clash against Aston Villa.
Arsenal, meanwhile, remain in control of the title race but know any slip-up in their remaining fixtures could hand City an opportunity to reclaim the crown.
