JAIPUR: Gujarat produced a dominant all-round performance to crush Rajasthan by 77 runs in their Indian Premier League clash in Jaipur on Saturday.
Led by a brilliant knock from captain Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans piled up an imposing 229/4 in 20 overs after being asked to bat. Gill starred with a fluent 84 off just 44 deliveries, punishing the Rajasthan attack throughout the innings as even pace spearhead Jofra Archer endured a difficult outing.
In reply, Rajasthan Royals — captained by stand-in skipper Yashasvi Jaiswal — collapsed to 152 all out in just 16.3 overs.
Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi provided early fireworks with a rapid 36 off 16 balls and became the fastest player in T20 history to complete 100 sixes. However, his dismissal triggered a dramatic batting collapse from the Royals.
Veteran spinner Rashid Khan dismantled the middle order with four wickets, while Jason Holder claimed three scalps. Kagiso Rabada picked up two wickets and Mohammed Siraj added one as Gujarat wrapped up a comprehensive victory.
The result marked Gujarat Titans’ fourth consecutive win and lifted them to second place in the IPL 2026 points table.
