DOHA : Qatar Anti-Doping Agency held a specialized training workshop in cooperation with the organizing committee of the GCC Games Doha 2026 as part of preparations for the regional competition.
The session brought together around 100 officials involved in anti-doping operations, including sample collectors, inspectors and support staff, with a focus on strengthening technical and organizational readiness ahead of the Games.
Organisers said the workshop aimed to ensure compliance with international standards established by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Training covered registration procedures for doping control personnel, responsibilities during competitions and recent updates to international anti-doping regulations and protocols.
Participants also reviewed methods for identifying and addressing procedural errors, alongside awareness initiatives and knowledge-sharing practices designed to support fair competition.
The workshop additionally featured the unveiling of the official mascot for the Gulf Games as part of efforts to promote the event’s identity and public engagement.
Officials said the programme was intended to ensure that all testing and monitoring procedures during the Games are conducted with high standards of integrity and transparency while protecting athletes and promoting clean sport.
Representatives of the Qatar Anti-Doping Agency said the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to build a drug-free sporting environment through regulation, education and enforcement in line with international anti-doping frameworks.
